Privacy and photography
The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and collects nothing about you. If you email us, we have your email. If you buy a ticket, the ticketing platform handles that, not us. We do take photographs and video at the Friday night, and you can ask us not to use yours.
What this website collects
Nothing. There are no forms on this site, no cookies are set, and there is no analytics or tracking of any kind — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording. Every "enquire" button opens your own email client rather than submitting anything to us.
The fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, and the links to Eventbrite, Instagram and Meetup are ordinary links rather than embedded widgets, so visiting a page here does not tell any of those companies that you did.
Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs — the sort of request data every web server records. We do not use them for anything.
If you email us
We receive whatever you send: your name, your email address and anything else you choose to put in the message. We use it to answer you and, for an event enquiry, to organise the event. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone else. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.
If you book a ticket
Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and Gomry, and payments at the door are taken by Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. Those companies collect and hold your payment details under their own privacy policies — we never see a card number. What reaches us is the attendee list for the night.
Photography and video
We photograph and film at the Friday class and social, and we use the results on this website and on our social media accounts to show people what the night is actually like. This includes the class group photo and clips filmed during the classes.
If you would rather not appear, that is completely fine and you do not need to give a reason:
- Tell any instructor before or during the night and we will keep you out of what we shoot.
- If something is already published and you are in it, email hello@bachatalab.org and we will take it down. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask.
We will always ask separately before using a photograph or a clip where you are the clear subject rather than one face in a room.
Children
The Friday night is an adult class and social, and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything about anyone under 13.
Your rights
Because we hold almost nothing, most data requests have a short answer. You are still welcome to ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@bachatalab.org and we will respond. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.
Changes
If we add anything to this site that collects data — an embedded booking form, analytics, anything of that kind — we will update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live.
